It's an exciting time to be a MTB rider in the beautiful forests of the Batemans Bay-Moruya area, that will soon have some of the newest and most exciting trails in Australia.

The BBMTB Club is here to support the creation and maintenance of trails, to provide fun social and competitive events, and an environment that builds a strong and active MTB riding community in the

Batemans Bay-Moruya area.

Come and participate in our events and make new and lasting connections across the local MTB community.

The BBMTB Club acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land that we meet and ride on, the people of the Yuin Nation. We pay our respect to Elders past, present and emerging.

News and What's On

Willinga Park Big Day Out 2

Willinga Park is on again! Sunday 26 November - registration details and links have been sent out to club members. There are limited tickets (60) so be quick. It's $40 this time, to cover the fee per rider that Willinga Park charge for the trails and the shuttles.  The club will provide the BBQ and drinks. Please note that this event is for current club members only.

Annual general meeting

BBMTB's first AGM will be held at 7pm Thursday 9 November at the Bay Soldiers Club.

The business to be conducted is to formally endorse the minutes of the special general meeting the Brewhouse in August 2022, report eport on activities and financial position for the year to 30 June 2023, and elect office holders and committee members - all positions are vacated annually and there are no limits on the number of terms for an office holder or committee member. We will also get an update from the ESC on the Mogo Trails project.

Social rides on hold

Following discussions with AusCycling about the direction our social rides are taking, we are bringing to an end the monthly social rides in their current format. The BBMTB womens social ride planned for Sunday 8 October will not go ahead. The expectations of participants continues to grow as the club’s capability grows, and so we have outgrown our informal, unofficial approach that has been a reasonable option for us so far. This won’t be the end of BBMTB social rides, but we need to hit pause until we get a formal license to use our local trails on Crown land. This process has been underway since March.

This situation in no way affects individuals, including club members, riding together on the trails.

Thanks to everyone who has come along as a participant or supporter of social rides since last October. They have been tremendously successful and fundamental to our community engagement in our first year.

More soon.

Snake bite kits

Plenty of snakes about lately with the warm weather. BBMTB has placed 14 snake bite bandages in marked and weatherproof containers around the Dam network trails, with more to come. Thanks to Batehaven Pharmacy for supplying the bandages.

If you are bitten remain still, call 000 and send someone to the nearest snake bite kit to get the bandage and follow the instructions on the packaging.

Make sure you have downloaded the Emergency + app on your phone to make contacting and establishing your exact location with emergency services easier.

Lock down first "legacy trail" to close as Mogo Trails construction picks up pace

Local trail “Lockdown” in the Deep Creek Dam loop area will be closed from 2 October as Next Level trail builders move construction operations on to the terrain. So long Lockdown - it’s been a short time but a good time. Big shout out to its creators #currentleveltrailbuilders.
